Zurich, September 3, 2021 Leading aviation food services provider gategroup has launched an internal initiative to encourage employee vaccination throughout its global operation. gategroup took this decision following guidance from public health authorities that widespread, comprehensive vaccination has proven to be the only effective way to reduce the danger of COVID-19 and protect our employees and communities.

The COVID-19 pandemic has killed millions and infected tens of millions globally, and vaccination is the best way of mitigating its future impact. Vaccines are not only safe and effective both in infection with COVID-19, but also nearly 100 percent effective in preventing serious illness, hospitalization, and death.

“The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic has been profound for both people and businesses, especially for industries in the aviation sector,” said Xavier Rossinyol, CEO of gategroup. “To do our part for each other, the community and the industry, we have decided that employee vaccination must be encouraged to the greatest extent possible within the local regulations. We strongly believe that universal vaccination is the best way, the only way forward out of the pandemic.”
