gategroup launches the #mindfoodness campaign to combat food waste

In recognition of Earth Month, gategroup, a global leader in airline catering and hospitality, is proud to announce the launch of its latest sustainability initiative – the #mindfoodness campaign. This initiative is inspired by the Stop Food Waste Day movement, which was initiated by Compass Group in 2017.

With a commitment to environmental stewardship, particularly in waste management, during these two weeks, gategroup’s Global ESG team intends to drive systemic change by focusing on solutions to Reduce, Reuse, and Compost.

As a culinary business, gategroup understands the critical importance of waste management and is dedicated to fostering a culture of mindful use of resources. The goal is to progressively evolve towards circular business models, where sustainability is at the core of its operations.

The company has already begun making significant strides in the right direction. Across its units worldwide, gategroup has been implementing a range of initiatives to divert food waste from landfills and incineration, promoting sustainability. As part of the campaign, we’re also launching a friendly competition, rewarding units and individuals who come up with the most creative ways to reduce food waste.

To extend the reach of this important campaign, gategroup invites its entire network to join the #mindfoodness movement. By adopting more mindful practices around food handling and consumption, everyone can make a substantial difference in reducing their environmental impact.

As part of gategroup’s #mindfoodness campaign, the company will be sharing leftover recipes from its chefs on its LinkedIn page to inspire culinary creativity. Participants are encouraged to use these recipes to create their own meals or share their unique remaining food recipes on social media. By using the hashtag #mindfoodness, participants can showcase their efforts and inspire others.
