Highlights from Sirha trade fair

Every two years, Lyon becomes the world capital of gastronomy when it hosts the Sirha trade fair, the must-attend event for gastronomy enthusiasts and catering professionals. This esteemed event showcases the latest innovations and trends as restaurant professionals, industry leaders, decision-makers, buyers, and startups come together to navigate the ever-evolving culinary landscape.

On February 25, during the Sirha Fair, the Procurement team, in collaboration with the Culinary team at gategroup, organized a Supplier Summit. This event brought together 80 participants from around the world to celebrate culinary connections and foster closer relationships with strategic suppliers.

During the summit, gategroup’s future goals and vision were presented, sharing insights into the company’s philosophy through a presentation titled “Creating culinary connections.” This presentation was delivered by Desire Mouanga, Chief Procurement Officer; Bernhard Rabian, VP of Culinary Procurement; and Oliver Fischer, Director of Culinary Excellence.

A major highlight of the event was the announcement of the Supplier Award, which evaluated vendors based on four criteria: performance, focus, innovation, and growth. Among the seven nominees, the award went to Die Räucherei.

“We are truly honoured to accept this award, and this recognition means a great deal to our family business. Our long-term strategic partnership with gategroup drives us to work together to innovate and improve continuously, and we are committed to create further market leading culinary connections together”, said Sebastian Peick Managing Director of the Die Räucherei.

Bernhard Rabian, VP of Culinary Procurement for gategroup, remarked, “Having this summit shows our commitment to our business partners. We are excited to continue working with them, finding new avenues to innovate and push the business forward.”

A special highlight – Team France wins the Bocuse d’Or 2025!

special highlight of the Sirha Trade included the world’s greatest culinary competition: the Bocuse d’Or.

Paul Marcon

For over 35 years, the Bocuse d’Or has celebrated excellence and innovation in cuisine, paying tribute to the legendary chef Paul Bocuse, who founded the competition.

A historic moment marked this 2025 edition: Paul Marcon, accompanied by his assistant Camille Pigot, won the Bocuse d’Or gold medal. This victory has a special flavor for servair because Paul Marcon is following in the footsteps of his father, Régis Marcon, a member of our Studio Culinaire and Bocuse d’Or winner 30 years ago.

This is an even greater source of pride for servair, whose chefs of Studio Culinaire include three winners of this prestigious award: François Adamski, Michel Roth and Régis Marcon.
