On April 10, gategourmet Zurich hosted a special event in recognition of the longstanding partnership with the Wisli Foundation and SWISS. We have been working together in a holistic ESG partnership for over 15 years, held up by our combined commitment to social integration and environmental protection.

The event began with a morning welcome at the gategourmet production unit only for SWISS employees with a presentation on sustainability. This was followed by a tour of the unit and a light lunch snack.

In the afternoon we welcomed guests from politics, partners, suppliers, and media, and we even had management team of SWISS on sight. In total there were about 70 participants through the latter half of the day. Managing Director Switzerland gategroup, Markus Gfeller was a wonderful host showing off our strong partnership with SWISS and Wisli, supporting startups, and believing in new ideas, especially in the field of sustainability.

During the tour, attendees had the opportunity to see for themselves, the strides we are taking towards these shared ESG goals. For example, attendees were able to see our new cutlery packaging machine, which now uses paper instead of plastic. The walkthrough was very well organized, showing off the facilities, safety measures, and innovations we have along with presenting fact-oriented insights to the attendees. The kind and helpful staff of gategourmet welcomed, cooked meals for, and served the guests enjoying their time at the production facilty.

Our partnership with Wisli centers around gategourmet offering jobs in our Zurich unit, granting people the opportunity to re-enter the primary labor market. These employees also have support from the Wisli Foundation, a not-for-profit social welfare organization that offers people with psychological impairments support and assistance with living, working, and integrating into the workplace. gategourmet is responsible for providing products and cutlery on board for our major customer SWISS, and many of these newly integrated employees share a responsibility in those duties.

Our partnership with SWISS is characterized by a strong focus on sustainability. We firmly believe that close collaboration can drive innovative and pioneering projects in the field of sustainability. We share a strong focus on environmental protection and social responsibility. Together, we are committed to reintegrating people into the labor market, reducing waste, and promoting recycling.

Our aim is to make positive changes together and have a lasting impact far beyond our partnership, one that stretches out of the workspace and into the community. The event was a wonderful success, and we would like to thank our partners The Wisli Foundation and SWISS. We look forward to our continued partnership and are excited for the future we are helping create together.
