Job Summary

At gateretail, we are always looking for individuals who are keen to be part of a highly motivated and industry leading team. We are currently recruiting for a Commercial Retail Analyst to provide business support services to the product & trading function within the commercial retail team. Dedicated to one of our major clients, the Commercial Retail Analyst will be responsible for building, harvesting, supporting and analysing data to drive retail decisions. In addition, the role will support for the sales force and wider team and will be responsible for all aspects of backend master data management.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Improve financial status by analyzing results; monitoring variances; identifying trends; recommending actions to management
  • Support commercial team in building dashboards, data sets, product details and data as required
  • Manage, maintain and design all forms of reporting through Power BI and other data sources.
  • Design and report back on new data sources along with finance and TRT teams (Sentimental reporting)
  • Keep and maintain TS5 data in a standardized manner
  • Support commercial team in the creation of ad-hoc reporting as needed
  • Report on all project in a timely manner
  • Work closely with GR & EZY finance teams in providing analysis and feedback for the business needs
  • Support commercial retail teams to monitor performance versus targets
  • Help to reconcile data
  • Manage day to day trading of the category through required reporting and analyzing of data
  • Develop excel based calculation tools
  • Provide cover within the team as required

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Ideally educated to a degree level

Work Experience:

  • Must have relevant experience in a commercial/finance analytical role, ideally with a major retail business
  • Proven working knowledge of Power BI / other similar tools
  • Proven experience of working within a cross-functional environment essential
  • Highly numerate and financially literate

Other Skills: (Certification, Licenses and Registration)

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, Must be an advanced MS Excel user (including VBA)
  • SQL experience preferable
  • Knowledge of optimisation tools (Supply Chain desirable, LLamasoft preferably)
  • Knowledge of Power BI or other BI reporting tools essential
  • Knowledge of ERP system desirable, but not essential
  • Advanced analytical skills
  • Problem Solving and critical thinking
  • Excellent written and oral communication in English with good presentation skills
  • Strong focus on data accuracy and attention to detail
